Where is Chaffers Dock Function Centre located?
We are located right on Wellington’s waterfront, beside Waitangi Park, the New Zealand icon Te Papa and the Chaffers marina, and just a minute’s walk away from the popular, and scenic, Oriental Parade.

Q: What are Chaffers Dock Function Centres’ hours of operation?

Full day

9.30am – 5.00pm

Evening hire

5.30pm – 11.00pm

 

 

Half day morning

8.00am – 12.00pm

Half day afternoon

12.30pm – 5.00pm

Q: Where is parking available for guests attending events at Chaffers Dock Function Centre?
There is pay and display parking lot, run by Wilsons Parking, across from the building. Their daily fee is $7. Te Papa, also adjacent to Chaffers Dock Function Centre, provides parking.

Q: Is Chaffers Dock Function Centre accessible to persons with disabilities?
Yes. All rooms have flat, wheel chair accessible entrances. We have several disabled restrooms throughout the function centre.

Q: What is appropriate attire for the Chaffers Dock Function Centre?
Wear whatever suits your function, it is the perfect venue to theme, so let your imagination go wild!

HOTELS AND RESTAURANTS

Q: Do you know of any hotels near the Chaffers Dock Function Centre?
There is several hotels right next to the function centre, please ask us when booking and more details will be provided.

Q: Are there restaurants near Chaffers Dock Function Centre?
We have several onsite restaurants:

  • Pazzaz
  • Port café

If none of these tickle your fancy, Wellington’s restaurant and entertainment quarter, Courtney Place, is a two minute walk away.

BOOKINGS

Q: How far in advance can I book Chaffers Dock Function Centre?
We need 5 working days notice for a function under 40 and 10 working days for anything over, if you want heavy themeing done as much notice as possible is always the best solution, as we would hate for you to miss out on anything.

Q: What is the process for booking a room at Chaffers Dock Function Center?
Please contact one of our staff via email or phone and we will do the rest for you.

Q: Can I have candles?

Yes

Q: Can I choose my own vendors?

No

Q: Can I have items delivered, such as from my florist, DJ, etc.?
Yes, but please let us know as we have four rooms and don't want mix ups

Q: Can I come anytime to view the building, meet florist, etc.?
Please call and make an appointment to take people through. As we are a busy function centre there is a good chance other events will be on.

Q: Can I have a live DJ or band
Yes. However all music needs to cease at 11pm unless discussed prior to the event.
